The 29th Annual Whooping Crane Festival
The Whooping Crane Festival is held each year at the Port Aransas Nature Preserve. First held in 1996, the festival celebrates the annual return of cranes to their wintering habitat at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. The event features birding trips, boating trips, nature tours, renowned speakers, photography workshops, a trade show, and more. In 2025, the four-day Whooping Crane Festival will begin on Thursday, February 20 and conclude on Sunday, February 23.
