About the Burnet Bluebonnet Festival
The Bluebonnet Festival is held annually over the second weekend in April at Burnet’s Historic Square.
In 1981, the Texas State Legislature officially designated Burnet the “Bluebonnet Capital of Texas.” In 1983, the first Bluebonnet Festival was organized, which was a huge success. The festival has been a popular community tradition ever since and has grown into one of Texas’s most exciting and successful small-town festivals.
The Bluebonnet Festival features attractions and activities for everyone, including carnival rides, games, contests, live music, arts & crafts vendors, food trucks, 5K & 10K runs, a classic car show, a grand parade, and lots of fun. In 2025, the three-day Burnet Bluebonnet Festival will begin on Friday, April 11 and conclude on Sunday, April 13.
