About the CA Watermelon Festival
The California Watermelon Festival is held annually at Hansen Dam Soccer Fields in Lake View Terrace, California. The Watermelon Festival began in the early 1960s in Sunland-Tujunga Park. After briefly shifting to a couple of other locations(Pasadena Rose Bowl and Santa Anita Park), the event was eventually moved to Hansen Dam Soccer Fields, where it continues to be celebrated today.
The CA Watermelon Festival has been a popular and long-standing tradition in Lakeview Terrace, drawing crowds year after year with its exciting mix of attractions. Visitors can enjoy live music, food booths, arts & crafts, amusement rides, and of course, an abundance of farm-fresh watermelons. The festival also offers a variety of unique watermelon-inspired culinary delights, such as watermelon ice creams, watermelon salsa tacos, watermelon tamales, watermelon kettle corn, watermelon popsicles, and watermelon funnel cakes.
