About the Strawberry Festival
The North Carolina Strawberry Festival is a family-friendly event, held annually in Chadbourn, NC. The first Strawberry Festival in Chadbourn was organized on May 26, 1926. The Strawberry Festival Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, was formed in 1970. The Chadbourn Strawberry Festival officially became the North Carolina Strawberry Festival on January 17, 1985.
The NC Strawberry Festival is the oldest continually-running agricultural festival in North Carolina. The festival features a bunch of attractions for all ages, including a parade, arts & crafts, food booths, contests, amusement rides, live music, strawberry treats, and plenty of farm-fresh strawberries. In 2025, the four-day North Carolina Strawberry Festival will begin on Thursday, May 1 and conclude on Sunday, May 4.
